Salivary gland stones are most commonly seen in the salivary gland under the chin. Swelling and pain under the chin during meals are the most important symptoms of salivary gland stones. If the stone has not completely blocked the salivary gland duct, the swelling will disappear in a couple of hours. Then, when a food that stimulates the salivary gland is eaten, the complaint reappears.
Diagnosis:
It is determined by the patient’s complaints, examination findings and radiological examination.
Treatment:
In the treatment of salivary gland stones, the formerly stone gland was surgically removed. Today, stones can be removed without damaging the gland with laser accompanied by sialendoscopy and sialendoscopy. In cases where sialendoscopy is insufficient, the salivary gland is surgically removed.
