Hemangiomas are the most common head and neck tumors in children. 95% occur at birth or within the first few months after birth. 90% of the cases regress spontaneously without treatment until the age of 6-7 years. However, the probability of spontaneous healing of late-onset and deeply located lesions is very low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active treatment may be required in hemangiomas that grow rapidly, involve vital organs, are frequently infected or bleed. Steroids are the most commonly used treatment. Some hemangiomas respond very quickly to steroid therapy. Surgical intervention is necessary in hemangiomas that do not regress spontaneously or are deeply located.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
